Who am I?
I am a 15 year old freshman in high school.
When did I find out about web design?
It was 6th grade year, and I had made a fun website on freewebs.com with the pre-made templates. One day, I found a page that I could edit the CSS of my template. "What is CSS?" I asked myself. So I searched "What is CSS" on google and I found a bunch of websites on web design and HTML. I was a total novice, and didn't even know what HTML was. I started reading the web pages, and I was instantly hooked. I decided that I would teach myself HTML and CSS so I could edit my templates for my website. I told my mom about it one day, and I asked her, "Do you know what HTML is? Because I'm going to learn it." She thought HTML stood for Hotmail, oh well. So over the next few months I became semi-fluent in HTML and CSS. Then I bought Elizabeth Castro's HTML, XHTML, and CSS Visual Quickstart Guide. I learned everything in the book, and I must have read it about 3 times. Then I taught myself javascript. So then for the rest of middle school, I started teaching myself more and more. Then in the fall of 9th grade, I decided that I should get the software that proffesional web designers used. So I compiled all my money, I had quite a lot, since I hadn't bought anything for a while. Then I bought the student edition of Adobe's Creative Suite 4 Web Standard CS4. And that is my web design story so far!
Why did I make this website?
Well, I made this website to informally show my work, although it is not that good. I just wanted to have an actual website, and this is also the first website I made that used Dreamweaver, which is amazing by the way!
